Sushi Class

  • Jr. Chef Central @ The Met Sacramento HIgh School 810 V St Sacramento, CA, 95818 United States (map)

This is the second of a series of one-day classes Chef Jon created to inspire a love of cooking.  His workshops expose young chefs to a variety of culinary techniques, foster an appreciation of cooking at home, and encourage independence and creativity in the kitchen.   Each workshop was thoughtfully designed to cover a range of cooking techniques using ingredients that are affordable and readily available.  Participants will leave with a shopping list, recipes, a sample of the day’s creations, and most importantly, the lifelong confidence that is necessary in the kitchen.  Previous experience in Basic Camp is beneficial but not mandatory.

SUSHI:  Sushi doesn't have to include raw fish!  The rice is the key ingredient to making good sushi. After that, the sky is the limit.  Young chefs will learn to make nigiri, maki, hand rolls, and inari using a variety of kid-friendly ingredients.
